Preschool

Welcome to St. John Vianney Catholic Preschool

At SJV Preschool, we teach our little students the meaning of sharing, caring and being grateful through stories, actions and how we treat one another inside the classroom.

During the month of November, our lesson rippled outward to our preschool families. Generous Food donations for SVdP are coming in, Parents are joining and contributing to our classroom Thanksgiving Feasts, and we have partnered up with Babies of Homelessness www.BOH.org for a diaper and wipe drive. Our caring community takes care of each other in times of illness and need. We feel blessed and are grateful for each and every one of you.

The Staff of St. John Vianney Preschool would like to wish everyone a blessed Advent and Christmas Season and a happy and healthy New Year.

Volunteering at Preschool:

The Archdiocese of Seattle requires all Church Personnel (defined as all clergy, all employees and all volunteers who have ongoing, unsupervised contact with minors or vulnerable adults) to take part in our Safe Environments program in three ways:

  • Successfully undergo a criminal background check every three years.
  • Complete the Protecting God’s Children course within 90 days of beginning service.
  • Read and sign the Archdiocesan policies of conduct.

You may complete these requirements by accessing the Virtus Database.

Curriculum:

Our faith filled developmentally appropriate curriculum includes all aspects of learning; academic, social, spiritual and physical. The low student teacher ratio allows for a child focused program, which nurtures individual needs and increases creativity through open-ended and theme based projects. Our curriculum includes art, science, music, manipulative materials to enhance pre-reading and pre-math skills, small and large motor skill development, yoga and mindfulness. We’ll read bundles of stories to further language development, have outside playtime and include fun, love and laughter.

Check out our optional addition to the 4’s and 3+ curriculum “Storybook Adventure”
